The Hopi people, an Indigenous nation of the American Southwest (primarily in present-day Arizona), have oral traditions that include beings sometimes translated into English as "Star People."  Hopi oral traditions describe a long spiritual history involving migrations, sacred teachings, and relationships between the earth, sky, and spiritual beings. The idea that the Dogon people of Mali possessed ancient “star maps” showing invisible stars is one of the most famous and controversial claims in anthropology.
